SmartTan.com Consumer Landing Page

SmartTan.com now features a “consumer landing page” for first-time viewers, re-directing salon clients to a consumer information hub while directing indoor tanning business staff to Smart Tan’s regular business-to-business educational web site.

The landing page feature went live Tuesday evening.

“SmartTan.com has always been a business-to-business educational hub intended for indoor tanning retailers and their staff members, but not necessarily for indoor tanning consumers themselves,” Smart Tan Communications Director Chris Cummings said. “We have other web sites for consumers, but more and more we have found that salon clients were coming to our business-to-business site. This landing page addresses that.”

Consumers will be directed to a page that gives them information on indoor tanning and also sends them to consumer pages — including TanningTruth.com and WeAreSunshine.com. All the pages include Smart Tan’s salon finder, which automatically helps consumers search for Smart Tan member salons in their area. It also explains why Smart Tan member salons are better prepared to serve them.

That feature is included in Smart Tan membership.

“When a customer sees the Smart Tan Declaration in a salon, this consumer web portal supports that message,” Cummings said. “It is another benefit of being a Smart Tan member.”

Once a customer is directed to the consumer portal page, her or his web browser will continue to refer them automatically to the consumer side of the website on subsequent clicks. Likewise, a salon employee who clicks on the business-to-business side of the site will automatically be returned to SmartTan.com’s business site in the future. A button on in the upper-left of the landing page does enable you to toggle to the other page on demand.
