Smart Marketing:
How to Use Facebook Offers

Monday, July 1st, 2013

Frequent Facebook users may have noticed a new option when they post, the “Offers” feature. The feature, which was recently rolled out to all business page, was created to help business harness the power and reach of Facebook to direct coupons and discounts to their followers in a more precise way.

It may be tempting to jump in with both feet and start to use the new and shiny feature, but before you do, take a step back and make sure your premiere offer is exactly what you want. There are no do-overs with this feature, and discounts and coupons often leave a huge impression with customers.

To get started the right way, take time to create an offer plan. Engineer it backwards: What is your ultimate goal? To get more customers in the door, to sell more products, to being back long lost customers?

Once you have identified your ultimate goal, work on the wording of the offer. Wording is key to success. Spelling errors make your offer look sloppy. Poorly worded offers may leave room for misinterpretation. Percentage errors or numerical errors could mena you end up offering 50% off instead of 5% off. Spend time looking at sample coupons to ensure you have the wording that is perfect for your offer.
