Try something new to drive holiday traffic with these “Holiday Promotions Your Customers Will Love,” from Small Business Computing. It’s the best time of the year to push retail products and gift cards. Don’t miss out!

One tried and true promotion, according to Small Business Computing, is the “mystery savings offer.” This type of deal engages the customer by letting them participate and allowing the possibility of increased savings. Find a creative way to frame it, like “Shake the Snow Globe of Savings and Save 20 to 50 percent!” Then market the campaign via email, social media, and other media to help reach customers that normally wouldn’t buy from you. Customers will mostly expect to get the lowest savings percentage, which is still a great deal, but if they get more they’ll be more likely to spend more, and the experience will stick in their minds.

Here are some more effective ideas:

Daily Deals: Highlight a special project each day (i.e. 12 Days of Gifts).

Doorbusters: Run specials for just a couple hours or until the product runs out to create a sense of urgency.

Gifts by Price Point: Appeal to budget-minded customers with gifts or gift sets separated by price range.

Persona-based Gifts: Group gifts into packages designed for a specific type of person. When a customer sees a package and immediately thinks of someone they need to buy for, they’ll be sold!

Come Back and Save: Turn gift-buyers into regular customers by offering  them a deal that’s too good to resist.
