Inspired Ideas: Leigh Ann Ragan, Supre Tan

If you’ve ever given Supre Tan a call, you’d recognize Leigh Ann Ragan’s cheerful voice on the phone. As their relatively new account executive, she holds down the phone lines at their Dallas, Texas headquarters. After 15 years of experience working in hair and beauty, she has happily joined what she calls the “tanning family,” and is already making a home in the industry.

Q: How was the hair industry similar to indoor tanning?

A: In both industries, you are really focused on making your customers loyal to you. The focus on education and trust is there so they understand what they need to get the best results. With so many salons concentrated in on area, it’s easy for them to go to someone else if they are cheaper or they don’e like something. That’s why it’s so important to carry the right products. If you have a product that doesn’t produce results or doesn’t do what it promises, you’re going to lose that customer’s trust. But if you have the right lotions and know your stuff, you can give your clients all that information and they will want to purchase from you instead of trying to find something at the grocery store because they feel like their owe it to you.
