Infrared Body Wraps Providing Benefits: Report

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

Infrared body wraps are an emerging market for the tanning business community, but many are still skeptical of the results. The Billings Gazette is reporting, however, that many consumers are seeing weight loss, skin rejuvenation, improved circulation and even pain relief from the treatment.

One customer the article features is Sue Wetsch, a 61 year old former smoker. She says she has dropped two pant sizes and decreased her dependence on supplemental oxygen since starting the wrap sessions.clearskinwoman

“It’s well worth the money… So far, it has really helped. I can breathe easier. It’s forced me to drink more water and I’m not getting the cramping in my legs like I used to. It’s improved my circulation,” Wetsch says in the article.

The process, according to the article, involves having the client lay on a massage table and wrapping the target areas of the body with silicone pads. These pads produce infrared energy, which penetrates the body and is then converted to heat. This heat is what causes the body to increase its metabolism and burn fat, the article states.

Dr. Krista Brayko of Yellowstone Naturopathic Clinic in Billings says in the article, “Raising the body temperature can assist in the killing of bacteria, viruses and microorganisms in general, which can inhibit the nervous and immune systems.” She also agrees, according to the article, that the infrared heat has the potential to increase circulation and cleanse the skin.
