After 11 consecutive years of being named Cape Girardeau’s top tanning salon by the local newspaper, Endless Summer Tan owner Marcia Schlueter still gets nervous when the time comes around for the People’s Choice Awards results to be announced. But, ever since the paper began honoring the top tanning business in town, the result has been the same.

“I’m worried every year if we’re going to get it, and then they say ‘Oh, you won by a landslide,’” Marcia says. “There are still so many misconceptions about tanning, but I want to be an example of what a salon should be.”

Over the years, Endless Summer Tan has maintained the designation of top dog in their market with intense dedication to cleanliness, maintenance and customer service.

“I’m very proud of that, and it speaks to the fact that we are so clean, keep the beds in prime working condition, and my people are very helpful,” Marcia says.

With more than a decade as the town’s No. 1 salon, the slogan seen on their website rings true: “Our only competition is the beach!”
